Meet Tish
Tish combines her counselling skills to work creatively with a range of therapeutic processes. Her holistic approach uses ‘enquiry’ to explore the connections between past, present and how others experience the world. She draws on 20 years experience working in private hospitals, clinics, local government and private practice.
Growing up in a lively household of 8 I left home to start my nursing career in palliative care. This was the 80’s and the initial phase of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. I experienced immense grief and loss and its impact upon the community. I came to view death as a sacred pivotal passage in life.
My path has always been focused upon people and their lived experiences. For 20 years I have facilitated groups, workshops and lectures in treatment facilities supporting individuals and families impacted by addictions and mood disorders.
“To truly get to know another and to hold precious stories that may not have been told before is a privilege I never take for granted.”
Becoming a parent deepened my curiosity around attachment, the adolescent brain and parenting styles. More recently I have been working with adolescents and families to improve emotional connections, and develop coping strategies. Sometimes this involves supporting young people navigate divorce and shared parenting.
I am aware that I am in a privileged position when I hear others stories and I hold this with deep respect. My commitment to myself is that while I am on this earth I will continue to pursue my own personal growth.
“While challenges and crisis are inevitable, they provide hidden opportunities for positive change”

Processing experiences such as grief and trauma safely.
